Product Overview

High Temperature Resistant PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) film is a specialized type of plastic film designed to withstand high temperatures without deforming or losing its structural integrity. PET is a thermoplastic polymer that exhibits excellent clarity, toughness, and resistance to moisture and chemicals, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The high-temperature resistant variant of PET film is formulated with additives or modifications to enhance its thermal stability. These additives may include heat stabilizers, flame retardants, or reinforcing agents to improve the film's performance under elevated temperatures.

Key characteristics of high-temperature resistant PET film include:

Heat Resistance: The film is engineered to withstand temperatures significantly higher than standard PET films without melting or deforming. It can typically endure temperatures ranging from around 150°C to 200°C or higher, depending on the specific formulation and application requirements.

Dimensional Stability: Even when exposed to high temperatures, the film maintains its dimensional stability, meaning it retains its shape and size without warping or shrinking.

Transparency: Like standard PET film, the high-temperature resistant variant maintains excellent clarity, making it suitable for applications where optical properties are important.

Mechanical Strength: Despite being subjected to heat, the film retains its mechanical strength and integrity, ensuring it can withstand handling and processing without tearing or breaking.

Chemical Resistance: High-temperature resistant APET film retains the chemical resistance properties inherent to APET, making it resistant to a wide range of chemicals, oils, and solvents.

Electrical Insulation: It can also serve as an electrical insulator, making it suitable for applications where electrical insulation properties are required.

Applications

High-temperature resistant PET film, typically in the thickness range of 0.2mm to 3mm, finds applications in various industries where heat resistance, durability, and electrical insulation properties are required. Some common applications include:

Electrical Insulation: PET film is widely used as electrical insulation material in transformers, motors, and electrical appliances due to its high dielectric strength and thermal stability.

Flexible Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs): High-temperature resistant PET film can be used as a substrate material in flexible PCBs, providing mechanical support and electrical insulation in applications where bending or flexibility is required.

Thermal Insulation: PET film can be employed as a thermal barrier in high-temperature environments, such as insulation wraps for pipes, cables, or electronic components.

Release Liners: In industries like adhesive tape manufacturing or label production, PET film serves as a release liner due to its smooth surface and ability to withstand high temperatures during adhesive application processes.

Solar Panels: PET film can be used as a protective layer or backing material in solar panels, providing durability and resistance to high temperatures encountered during operation.

Heat Sealing: PET film is utilized in heat sealing applications, such as packaging for food, pharmaceuticals, and industrial products, where it provides a barrier against moisture and oxygen while withstanding high temperatures during sealing processes.

Flexible Packaging: PET film is widely used in flexible packaging applications, including pouches, bags, and wrappers, where it offers heat resistance during packaging and enhances product shelf life.

Insulating Tapes: PET film can be coated or laminated with adhesive to produce insulating tapes used in electrical and electronic applications for bundling wires, cable wrapping, and insulating joints.

Laminates and Composites: PET film can be laminated with other materials like aluminum foil or fiberglass to create high-temperature resistant laminates and composites for applications such as aerospace components, automotive parts, and building materials.

Heat-resistant Labels and Decals: PET film can be used as a substrate for labels and decals in applications where exposure to high temperatures is expected, such as automotive engine components, appliances, and industrial equipment.

These are just a few examples of the diverse applications of high-temperature resistant PET film across various industries. Its combination of thermal stability, electrical insulation properties, and mechanical strength makes it a versatile material for a wide range of uses.

Advantages of PET Sheet

The advantages of PET sheet mainly come from PET raw materials.

·PET has high crack resistance

·PET can be easily thermoformed

·PET has good barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor

·PET plastic is very light, but it is still strong enough, with high surface hardness, and its mechanical properties are similar to thermosetting plastics

·PET is non-toxic and safe, very suitable for packaging food, as well as retail, electronics and other products

PET sheet has a very wide range of uses, the most widely used in the packaging industry, such as the outer packaging of various products, food packaging, disposable water cups, fruit trays, and so on.

Requirements for Raw Materials

For the production of 0.2-1.6mm thick common A-PET sheet, generally use polyester for water bottles, polyester for oil bottles, or polyester for carbonated beverage bottles. Polyester for hot-filled bottles is not used (fast crystallization rate, sheets are easy to whitish).

For thicker sheets that require deep plastic absorption, a 5-gallon bottled water-specific polyester with a slow crystallization rate can be used.

The requirements for raw materials of A-PET sheet are basically the same as those of polyester bottles, and the intrinsic viscosity is required to be in the range of 0.80~0.88dL/g.Depend on your requirements, the scraps of the A-PET sheet can also be pulverized and reused in proportion.
